Amaranthus, collectively known as amaranth, is a cosmopolitan genus of annual or short-lived perennial plants. Cooked amaranth leaves are a good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, and folate; they are also a complementing source of other vitamins such as thiamine, niacin, and riboflavin, plus some dietary minerals including calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, copper, and manganese. Cooked amaranth grains are a complementing source of thiamine, niacin, riboflavin, and folate, and dietary minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, copper, and manganese - comparable to common grains such as wheat germ, oats and others.[17]

Amaranth seeds contain lysine, an essential amino acid, limited in grains or other plant sources. Most fruits and vegetables do not contain a complete set of amino acids, and thus different sources of protein must be used. Amaranth too is limited in some essential amino acids, such as leucine and threonine.Amaranth seeds are therefore a promising complement to common grains such as wheat germ, oats, and corn because these common grains are abundant sources of essential amino acids found to be limited in amaranth.

Amaranth may be a promising source of protein to those who are gluten sensitive, because unlike the protein found in grains such as wheat and rye, its protein does not contain gluten



Strawberries for dry skin

Ingredients: 7 strawberries, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar.

Wash the strawberries and reduce them to a pulp with the aid of a mortar. Add the sugar and continue to stir and mash. Leave the mixture for 15 minutes and add 1 teaspoon of honey. Continue to mix all the ingredients, once they are well mixed, let it sit for 15 minutes before applying.

Apply on the face with circular movements, avoiding the eye area. Once sprawled over the entire face, leave on for 15/20 minutes....

Ingredients ( for 6 people):

• 2 eggs
• 2 ½ tablespoon of sugar
• 2 whole orange peels
• 400 gr. flour
• 10 tablespoons of olive oil
• 1 cup of milk
• 2 bags of baking powder
• salt
• icing sugar
• chocolate powder

Beat the eggs in a bowl and add the sugar mixing energetically. Finely grate the orange peels and add to the eggs with a pinch of salt. Add the flour slowly, beating the eggs continuously and add the olive oil and the warmed milk. Add...



Vitamins are important because they allow the body to use the protein, fat and carbohydrates playing an antioxidant function.

They are divided into water-soluble (dissolve with water and are more easily removed) and liposoluble (dissolve in an alcoholic solution and store easily).

The first group contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B9, B12 and vitamin C; while they are fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D and K.

A us study says that strawberries as well as being tasty and succulent also help the brain to clear toxins, the only thing you require is to have moist soil where they can develop.

It was also discovered that the fruit of the strawberry plant are not the same strawberries but smal  and annoying yellow seeds that are found on the surface!


Lemon aperitif


1 dl of white rum, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon honey, ice cubes, 3 dl of champagne/sparkling wine

Add the white rum to the lemon juice and honey, stirring vigorously, and adding a lot of ice cubes.
Fill to 1/3 of the large glasses and add 3 dl of cold champagne or sparkling wine.
Et voila a simple but refined cocktail to serve also as a pleasant aperitif.
