lovage

It is in flower from July to August and seeds ripen from August to September. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by insects.
The plant is self-fertile. It is noted for attracting wildlife.

Lovage is a warming and tonic herb for the digestive and respiratory system. It is used primarily in the treatment of indigestion, poor appetite, wind, colic and bronchitis. The roots, leaves and fruits are antispasmodic, aromatic, carmative, diuretic. They are used internally in the treatment of disordered stomachs, especially casis of colic and flatulence in childre, pianful menstruation and slow labour.

  • Half a cabbage
  • 2 black cabages
  • spinach
  • 3 carrots
  • 3 potatoes

  • parsley
  • ½ kg boiled white beans
  • piece of prosciutto with the bone
  • 2kg dry Tuscan bread
  • olive oil
  • thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 vegetable stalk

Boil the white beans in water for 2 hours. Chop the parsley, cellery, onion, and long onion and cook in a deep pan with olive oil with the piece of prosciutto with the bone....
